Collective Insight into History

Topic : Proposals / Prepositions – Thoreau, King, Freire, Jung, Matthew, Quran. Comparative analysis of the above proposals: theory / praxis (efficacy, intention): what elements from each might you use? If non from any, why not? Conclusion: include a key disequilibrium that your generation has to resolve. What’s your first step? What imitations, efficacy does it carry?

The effect of globalization and the result of the Cold War still resonates today: most nations hold that democracy is by far tcollectivehe most respected and valued form of government. Nevertheless, democracy is not only inefficient but also poses a grave consequence, tyranny of the majority, in which a law or policy, whether righteous or dehumanizing, is followed upon the decision of the mass; the public may not always hold a just perception. The proposals and prepositions of the six texts all carry a unifying message to the contemporary society, that the commonly accepted may not be the truth.

Although the six all address differentiating subjects, they lucidly mock at the status quo and the beliefs that the common person may carry. Both Henry David Thoreau and Martin Luther King Jr. are keen to note upon that the laws and the traditions that the American societies uphold, especially those on slavery and segregation, should be eradicated; while Thoreau criticizes the government, King shows his disappointments to the church. In similar context, Freire casts doubt upon the education system in which the teacher deposits and fosters a problem posing education; Jung opposes Freud, on personal unconsciousness, and state that a society is bound with an overarching collective unconsciousness. The two religious texts also condemn the non-believers and non-adherents.

Therefore, the six texts send an important message that all individuals need to keep in heed, that democracy may have its flaws, and that the common may hold conceptions that are immoral; they also highlight that the misinterpreted conceptions ought to be condemned when found, instead of supported–even on an individual level, as Thoreau is put in jail for not paying his tax bills. Moreover, they give hope to the globe that hope exists. With the exception of the two religious texts, which are upon a person’s freedom to uphold or not, the other four dreams, which started from an individual level, have created a clear outcome that is indubitably progressing the world: slavery was long before disposed, and we now promote a more liberal education values in a global standards.

Therefore, instead of using the intentions of each of the proposals, which are now history, a collective value that all six implicitly carry should be used in advancing the current status quo. Unquestionably, each carry priceless moral significance that all must not lose, but in the modern day context, the importance that they have is less fulfilling; one would be a fool to propose what Thoreau presents, for his message is beyond anachronistic.

The six passages all direct to a single disequilibrium that communities face today: without a doubt, democracy is respectable tin nature, but we must not expand it to become an oppression. For a democracy to not turn into the unmerited autocracy of the majority, the first step would be for individuals to oppose institutions that are depraved, against the common sense. While lack of support and time will be an initial constraint to individual praxis, as the past proves, the righteous will prevail.
